"We’ve created a space for community; a space for artists to commune, a space for creative women of color to feel safe, seen and valued! We have created a platform for connection and growth to take place. We are fostering creative collaboration while sharing ideas, knowledge, resources and opportunities with the next generation of creators.”
- Madame Gandhi on Queensfest 2019
Queens of the New Age (QOTNA) represents a collective of artists, educators and organizers centering the needs of Black femmes while creating radical scenarios for important work to be seen, heard and celebrated. At the intersection of art, education, and liberation, we've cultivated a community and platform for our most innovative minds to illuminate potential, cultivate their ingenuity and get paid to do so, since 2015.
QOTNA esteems the power of the creative Black Woman to shift culture and is committed to amplifying the voices of the unprotected. We are diligent in diving deep to understand and serve the needs of our immediate community through primary source research, collective ideation and the continuous development of important projects. Our year round programming and interactive educational music arts festival, provides the space for all to join in the celebration of Extraordinary Women.
With objectives to decentralize information, resources and opportunity we are building a digital platform for education along with a creative compound + cafe to provide access to healthy affordable food options, creative resources and opportunities for professional advancement to the most vulnerable.
We are open to collaboration and encourage entertainment, emotional intelligence education and cooperative economic thought and practice as a path to liberation. With your support, we are growing this creative worker co-operative while building a platform and sustainable pipeline to information, resources and opportunity.
QOTNA is diligent in raising funds to properly serve the needs of our community through the development of an online educational platform and a creative compound + cafe providing access to healthy affordable food options, creative resources and opportunities for professional advancement in Leimert Park.
Queensfest is our educational music arts celebration with live performances, local art, engaging salons, educational workshops, local vendors and more. Serving over 10,000 Angelenos since 2015.
Queenscamp is a fully immersive arts education experience designed for young women of color ages 12 to 18. This year round initiative has created a space for our most innovative minds to dive head first into their passion of choice while creating with and learning from some of today’s most influential artists.

“This is precisely the time when artists go to work. There is no time for despair, no place for self-pity, no need for silence, no room for fear. We speak, we write, we do language. That is how civilizations heal.”
